Shugborough Estate – April 2017
Its April Bank Holiday weekend and while a little windy I needed to get out and try my new M.Zuiko ED 40-150mm (80-300mm in 35mm) on the GX8. The kit 14-42mm (28-80 in 35mm) lens is great for walk about, portraits etc. but when traveling a light telephoto lens is needed. Its small, light and while not sharp at 150mm it produced some usable photos for the price. I used a monopod to support the long zoom where possible

Quarry Bank Mill – January 2017
It might be 2 degrees outside and the paths to the car is so slippy, I nearly ended up on my backside, yet its fresh, its outdoors and it feels good. I packed light, taking just my Panasonic GX8, the kit 14-42, plus my Canon 18-135mm lens with the Commlite auto adapter and some spare batteries. I head over towards Manchester to visit what appears to be the only National Trust property open, Quarry Bank Mill. A working mill with demonstrations and lots of things to photograph, and of course most of its indoors
